Felix Lewis Architects is an architecture and interior design studio working in Cranbrook, the Weald of Kent and across the South East. We specialise in country house renovations, listed buildings, barn conversions, sensitive house extensions and contemporary residential architecture.

Our approach combines thoughtful architectural design with an understanding of historic buildings, rural landscapes and modern living. From restoring a traditional Kent farmhouse to creating a contemporary countryside home, we design spaces that respect their surroundings while bringing something new.

Country Houses, Listed Buildings & Rural Architecture

Cranbrook and the surrounding Kent countryside are home to historic farmhouses, traditional cottages, converted agricultural buildings and characterful country houses.

We work with homeowners to carefully renovate, extend and reimagine these properties, balancing the preservation of historic character with the demands of contemporary family life.

Our architectural services in Cranbrook include listed building renovations, heritage architecture, barn conversions, country house extensions, rural new builds and whole-house refurbishments. We also assist with planning applications, listed building consent and conservation-led design. To view our full list of architectural services, see here.

Contemporary Extensions & Design-Led Homes

A sensitive extension can transform the way a home is experienced without compromising its original character.

Whether introducing a modern kitchen extension to a period farmhouse, converting an existing barn into a family home or designing a new countryside residence, our approach focuses on natural light, carefully considered materials and a strong connection between architecture and landscape.

We believe contemporary architecture can sit comfortably alongside historic buildings, creating distinctive homes that are both functional and architecturally considered.
