The 1930's House
A characterful whole-house refurbishment of a 1930s Arts and Crafts home in Oxted, Surrey, combining mid-century modern interior design with rich colours, tactile materials and bespoke craftsmanship.

Our approach to this complete home renovation was to celebrate the property's Arts and Crafts heritage while introducing a playful, contemporary interior inspired by mid-century modern design. A rich, earthy colour palette of terracotta, burnt orange, deep greens and warm neutrals brings personality and warmth to this family home, reinterpreting its lost historic charm for modern living.

Colour drenching plays a key role throughout, creating immersive, characterful spaces that feel both cohesive and individual. Textural wallpapers, bold patterned tiles, luxurious upholstery and carefully considered fabrics introduce layers of depth and interest, while bespoke joinery, from fitted cabinetry and bookcases to beautifully detailed storage solutions, brings craftsmanship and functionality into every room.

A strong emphasis on British-made furniture, interior finishes and traditional craftsmanship helps create a timeless interior that balances quality with individuality. Every material, colour and architectural detail has been thoughtfully selected to complement the home's original character while embracing the comfort and practicality of contemporary family life.

The result is a distinctive Arts and Crafts house renovation in Oxted, Surrey, where heritage architecture meets expressive mid-century interiors, creating a colourful, welcoming home full of personality, texture and unexpected moments of joy.
