Bellenden Road
A modern extension to a terraced house in Peckham.

This charming Edwardian home has been carefully reimagined with a ‘wrap-around’ extension, bringing light, space, and a sense of openness to a much-loved family house. Constructed from soft pale Danish-format bricks, the new addition forms a series of elegant piers and generous soffits, creating cosy interiors and sheltered outdoor nooks that open onto the peaceful garden.

‍

A sunken terrace, crafted from the same pale brick, serves as a welcoming outdoor dining space — perfect for sunny afternoons or relaxed family dinners under the stars. Oak-framed windows and overhead rooflights flood the interiors with natural light, softly blurring the boundary between inside and out and framing views of the garden from every corner.

‍

Inside, the new kitchen forms a social heart for the family, with contrasting cabinetry that adds rhythm and brightness. Light upper units maintain an airy, uncluttered feel, while a bespoke mosaic floor of diamond-shaped encaustic tiles in soft pinks and leafy greens references traditional Edwardian patterns, subtly guiding the eye towards the garden.

‍

The result is a contemporary, thoughtful design that enhances family living while respecting the home’s original charm.
